Alternative Dispute Resolution

Alternative dispute resolution includes mediation, early neutral evaluation, mock trials, and arbitration.  These options are sometimes mandatory due to an agreement, or can be required as a part of court litigation.  They can be, but not always, a less expensive option than a court or jury trial.

Arbitration is particularly useful when trade secrets and confidential business information are involved because it is challenging to maintain information secret in court proceedings.  We can handle all of these types of proceedings for our clients.

Moreover, we can serve as an arbitrator or mediator.  Jeffrey Sheldon is a popular intellectual property panelist on the panel of mediators for the Central District of California.  He completed the mediation course taught at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at the Pepperdine University School of Law.
